Be a NASA Scholar!

NASA is currently seeking community college STEM majors for its Fall 2015 NCAS program!  NCAS participants are engaged in a rich STEM learning experience through interactions with NASA scientists and engineers, web-based activities and a four-day onsite experience at a regional NASA Center.  Community college students from across the nation are chosen to participate through a competitive process. Selected students are U.S. citizens (or Lawful Permanent Residents local to JPL) currently pursuing their initial undergraduate degrees at a community college who have an interest and aptitude for mathematics, science, engineering or computer science.

Students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply by the June 24th deadline!:
  • U.S. citizen OR Lawful Permanent Resident (CA students local to JPL only)
  • High school graduate and at least 18 years of age
  • Must be a registered community college student (at the time of application, and during Fall 2015)
  • Concurrent enrollment or completion of 9+ hours of STEM coursework (can be any courses)
  • Able to commit to a 5 week online session and a four-day onsite experience at a NASA Center
  • Internet access

* Travel, housing, and meals will be paid by NASA for the four-day experience.

*If a student is a lawful permanent resident, he/she should email Roslyn Soto (roslyn.soto@jpl.nasa.gov) directly for instructions on filling out the application.
