Department of Homeland Security Seeks Student Volunteers

The 2015 Secretary’s Honors Program Cyber Student Volunteer Initiative will place approximately 75 undergraduate student volunteers in cybersecurity-focused assignments in more than 50 locations across the country.

As part of the department’s ongoing efforts to develop the next generation of cyber talent, selected students will have a unique opportunity learn about the DHS cybersecurity mission and to engage in hands-on cybersecurity work related to digital forensics, network diagnostics, incident response and a variety of other specialties.

Applications will be accepted from US Citizens only, until December 12, 2014 via USAJOBS.gov. Student volunteer assignments will begin in May 2015 and continue throughout the summer.

Summer Research Internships

Online information session for the Transfer-to-Excellence Summer Research Internship on Wednesday, December 3rd from 2-3pm
Transfer-to-Excellence Summer Research Internship is a 9-week program that introduces energy research to community college students who are motivated by science and engineering. Summer interns have the opportunity to join Berkeley researchers working in a collaborative and innovative environment on energy-related problems including robotics. Gain real-world experience in addition to a $3,600 stipend.
