Two Free Hackathons Coming Up


BeMyApp - Feb 8th - 10th
A multi-city hackathon competition on February 8-10 dedicated to mobile games; the event is platform agnostic, free to attend and is our 4th edition in SF. It will also take place in Paris and Berlin simultaneously so adding the world cup flare to it :) Here's the event page

Cross Platform Hackathon - Feb 15th - 16th
Microsoft is hosting a Cross Platform Hackathon in Feb.  The idea is to let developers try cross platform app frameworks like AppMobi, YoYo Game andScirra Construct 2 to develop apps which can deploy onto multiple platforms but the prizes will be honored for Windows 8 apps.

Volunteer Opportunities at NASA Ames


New exhibits are opening at the Visitors Center in Mountain View. These include Science on the Sphere, a Shuttle simulator, a new Kepler exhibit, and a limited showcasing of Kapala Chawla personal items from STS-107. NASA is hosting many events coming up, and they would love to recruit Foothill students as volunteers to help.
